Avast sandbox

Hello everyone. Currently I use Sandboxie for browsing the web and since Avast 6 has a sandbox I had a question. Could I just make my browser open in the Avast sandbox and do away with using Sandboxie all together? Would it provide the same level of protection? Sandboxie deletes everything on shutdown of the browser, does Avast? Thanks.

Yes for Pro and IS.

You don’t say what version of avast you are using ?
Only the Pro version of avast (included in AIS version also) has the Full sandbox.

The free version only have the autosandbox, which is on the lookout for applications/executables that, although they don’t fail the file system shield scan, they are suspicious in one or more ways.

So it isn’t selective, you can’t say what application to sandbox, that is only available in the paid versions.

To do this, go to Expert Settings → Web browsers and uncheck “Store files…”
I don’t delete sandbox for webbrowsers automatically when you terminate them, because each time when you launch web browser, quite a lot of files must be virtualized (usually for IE, I think) and it slowdowns startup time.

Yes, but after updating browser plug-ins like flash you should delete the sandbox before sandboxing your browser(s) again.
