Avast says a software has a malware

Hi,

I had a software called Vision Defence for like a year on my PC, you can download it from here:
http://www.rebuildyourvision.com/vision_defense_free_download.html

Avast never told me anything about it - but recently it’s saying it has a malware. So I uninstalled it. Now I tried to download it again and re install it - and attached is a screenshot of what Avast told me exactly after it finished downloading.

I contacted owner of the software and they said that no other user reported such problem.

Any idea please?

Thanks,
Karl

Do you have a copy of the “infected” file in the chest? If so, right click on it and upload it as a suspected False Positive.
Alwil are pretty fast about fixing FP’s, and you should periodically re-scan it within the chest. When/if it scans clean, you should be able to reinstall the software.

Or scan it again in the chest and use the report as false positive link in the bottom right of the alert. Complete the basic form and it will be uploaded the next time you update.

Hi,

Will I get a reply back if I do that?

Karl

Even though the site is green, one WOT comment says that purchasing from this site is expensive.

Normally not unless they need more information.
Periodically scan the file from inside Chest, after VPS updates, when it is no longer detected you can restore the file/ to their original location/s.

This is now showing all clear, Try to update Avast.
