Avast says chrome security plugin is not installed but it is

Not sure what else I can say here…

I just updated to 8.0.1489 (on computer running XP). While updating, Avast gave me a pop-up saying something about Chrome security plugin not installed, which I thought was odd since everything in “Browser Integration” was installed (IE, FF, Chrome).

I clicked install anyway, and it opened Chrome and I installed the plugin, but Avast still says the Chrome Security Plugin is not installed in Browser Integration.

I clicked on “Install” and it opened this page which says the plugin is already installed: http://www.avast.com/en-us/lp-online-security-plugin?&p_pro=0&p_vep=8&p_ves=0&p_lqa=0&p_lsu=24&p_lst=0&p_lex=345&p_lng=en&p_lid=en-us&p_elm=119&p_vbd=1489

Also, the Chrome Web Store shows it to be installed, as well as in Chrome>Settings>Extensions.

I closed the browser and Avast and reopened them, and yes, I restarted after updating Avast.

After all that, Avast still says the Chrome Security plugin not installed.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

This is normal. Same for me. Just go into your Chrome Extensions and if it’s listed your all set. It’s that easy.
