avast says my license is expired !

let me ask you this. is it weird that in the link you give me …i can open it but anything in the avast site you have me going to will not open. Like to check to make sure previous versions of security are not installed…i clicked on the w for windows defender…not a clickable option.

is this due to worried about being online so using a private window right now in chrome or something else.

i do thank you for your help this weekend…seriously much appreciated.

You can’t uninstall Windows Defender, it’s integrated in the OS.

sorry im not sure there isnt another problem here. I cant click on any of the items on the page to remove priors. Hover the mouse over them and nothing to click on. the cursor dont change.

This is weird to me my avast was “protected” and working fine not too long ago. This all just happen within the last month or so.

ok will do…ill install it and go from there. i also read a post about malwarebytes that you just told someone about. I forgot when did a update to malwarebytes to set my exclusions…so wonder if that is my culprit. I will reinstall and get back to you on my progress…

Well, Aysn, i have cleared all the old stuff via the tool you sent me and rebooted in safe mode all that. Reinstalled the avast like you said , still am unprotected. No change.

I have to do some things today prolly wont be back on till later tonight or sunday night. I will submit a reply to this then if that works for you.

yes i did that as well. I checked on this today seeing if anything has changed but nothing has. The avast home page says all my license are valid but i got a red sheild …like im “unprotected”

i did create a ticket on avast site…does that just go here? i was hoping this was something simple that was turned off , but even my activation code does not work.

Asyn, like most of the others on the forum are avast users just like yourself (and myself), but they try to help where they can and try to push things forward also.

Avast team members will have ‘Avast Team’ in the information to the left of their posts.

Ordinarily you should have received an automated email response first of all, support tickets can take 1-5 business days, but dependant on the number of tickets, it could be longer.

In the automated email, I suspect there should be a URL link back to your Support Ticket and possibly the support ticket ID number. I have never had to use the support ticket system so I can’t speak from personal experience.

Did you receive an automated email after creating the support ticket and what information did it contain ?

Thanks guys…yea i never got a response. I did however reopen the support tool and have a few files there. attached is my log. Notice those errors? is this some of my issue or did I just get a virus or something.

The support tool was hard to locate…i had to kinda type around the “can we help” section to see how to generate a ticket. anyway let me know if this helps anybody.

on a side note…since my reboot and reinstall of avast i now have 2 “devices” on my dashboard at the avast side. one with a red shield…one with a green shield.

sorry as you can tell im not on this computer much, i work with computers all day and of course i have on that has a problem at home. Im not even sure this is a problem…just avast says there is. Anyway this has all taken too long i will no longer keep up my auto renewal, I have tried to call avast numerous times to never get ahold of anyone.

I dont want to change my Internet security again. If you guys can help me fix this would be great.

hey everyone…i know long time no hear. sorry been crazy busy. Asyn, i did not get a ticket id or there was never one sent to my email from the 18th . i actually have no emails short of the emails i have got from this topic reply.
anyway yesterday i finally got a response from “rebecca” from avast…she wants screen shots of whats going on, well when i logged on the computer i see that i no longer have a license issue now it thinks my firewall is off??? Now avast says every thing is ok except my firewall. I try to activate it and sure enough nothing .

Repair Avast:

Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → Avast
Click on ‘Repair’.
Follow instructions.
Reboot.
