After I do a Avast scan, I get a Trojan called Search Hijacker.G. It is located in the c:\windows\temp_avast5_\un
I have Avast version 5.0.677 with XP Pro 3. I also have stop zilla version 5 and Zone Alarm latest version…
Avast didn’t find the Trojan, Search Hijacker.G, Stop Zilla found it…
Does anyone know why this happens after I do a avast scan and what should I do? Get the Pro Version of Antivirus avast? This free version has done nothing to stop the trojans that come onto my machine which is a Dell PC.
I know that for a fact the avast is conflicting with the stopzilla cause it doesn’t come up after I boot the machine…
That avast5 folder is where avast unpacks/sends copies of files for scanning, once a scan is completed successfully the contents should be cleared. So this isn’t really a big issue.
Why the contents weren’t removed after a scan is the real question. This is usually cause by another security application locking a file to be scanned in the avast5 folder, this stops avast both scanning and removing or alerting on it during/after a scan.
What other security software do you have installed ?
I haven’t a clue what stop zilla is, but you should exclude the avast5 folder from its scans.
