Yesterday I found there’s something wrong with avast. Avast said it could not scan some files in my computer, and the resualt shows C:\Users\Jace\Favorites\favorder3.dat is off-line and currently not applicable (error code: 42006)
What’s wrong with my computer and how could I fix it?
It’s nothing to worry about. Error 42006 means, the file was marked as offline (i.e. the file should be a local copy of a network file). These files are sometimes not scanned, it depends on the scan type. Offline files can be visible on disk, but they can be stored on a network share/tape/different medium and it’d take very long time to scan them. Anybody can set this flag, usually it’s a backup/synchronization tool.
