I have been using Avast for several. Now when I open the program,
the screen for it is advancing up to the top of the monitor. Now
all I can see is “Folder Section”. How can I fix this problem?
Welcome to forums nadiarobin !
I’m afraid I don’t understand what do you mean… some screeshots showing what you really mean, would be very helpful…
Cheers !
Wait your saying that when you run avast! the screen was on the top of your monitor? I don’t understand the “Folder Section” like what sZc said, can you please explain it in more details? Thanks.
When I click on the shortcut for Avast to open the program:
- The memory test runs
- Now the program should run for scanning.
- The cursor shows that it is waiting for the program to start.
- Now, nothing appears on my desktop. The program screen has
advanced up the desktop until it has completely disappeared.
If this is not any clearer, please let me know.
Thanks.
Try reinstalling your graphic card drivers and check your screen resolution-refreash rates
We still have no clue what are your system specs… what’s the OS, what other security related programs do you have installed on that system (this could help to see maybe avast! is fighting with some other utility, you never know…), which version of avast! (Freeware or Professional) ? Also, very important thing - do you use any Windows Visual Style other than normal Windows XP Blue, Olive Green and Silver) and which one ? It’s been reported before that some not-so-professionally-made visual styles are totally incompatible with some hi-end utilities, among them with avast! too…
All those information could help us resolving your problem. Help us to help you. Everybody SHOULD post those information prior telling us what’s their problem. Million different systems out there, therefore million different problems to solve
Also, do you have any other antivirus along with avast! on that system ? Did you have any other antivirus prior installing avast! and you didn’t remove it properly from your system ?
Again, as P3t3rb0nn already mentioned, very good idea is to check your display drivers. Best thing you could do is to start Windows Update and see if there are any newer display drivers for your type of display adapter ready for download… Those are usually under “SELECT OPTIONAL HARDWARE UPDATES” section…
Thanks to all who helped me. I did what was advised and also
uninstalled Avast! and reinstalled the program. I can see the
program now in the middle of my desktop!
