Hello, I have Avast 4.8.1169 Home Edition and Windows XP. It seems that every time my Avast screensaver starts, it always begins by scanning the same files. I tested this with the looping option both on and off, with the timer set to begin screensaver after 1 minute of inactivity. I thought the program would remember where it stopped scanning the last time (in the same session). Is this a change from previous versions of Avast, or is there a problem with my system? The way it’s working now, most likely the screensaver will never scan the files at the end of the list. Thank you.

There is a new program update for avast. Right click the avast tray icon>Updating>Program Update

No. If your using avast screen saver scan it will not continue from where you have stopped.
Actually, it should (continue from where it stopped last time). Not from the last file, but from the (beginning of the) last folder at least.
What is the first folder you see [to be scanned] when the screen-saver appears?
Thanks, now I see what is happening.
The screensaver scan seems to keep track of the last folder it completely scanned. If a folder wasn’t completed before the screensaver was interrupted, it begins with first file in this folder again the next time the screensaver begins.
I had so many large files in the My Music folder (77GB) that the screensaver wasn’t advancing to the next folder during my testing or even actual usage.
