Hi Ahmer2,

First off, welcome to the forums. (About the CAPTCHA thing, only for the first 3 posts, SPAM protection.) (Once you hit 4 you are good to go.)

Looks as if the avast push update of your browser did not take or complete properly. (You can find current version number via C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Browser\Application\AvastBrowser.exe. Highlight the executable to see the current version. Please report back with the version number.)

Be sure to back up your bookmarks before you begin, if you can. See: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=how+to+back+up+bookmarks+in+a+chromium+browser&t=ffab&ia=web

Maybe it’s time for a clean install of the Secure Browser
Download the installer from here, https://www.avast.com/en-us/secure-browser
Download the Secure Browser Removal tool from here, https://download.avastbrowser.com/avast_secure_browser_uninstall.exe
Save your Bookmarks via the Book Marks Manager if you have custom bookmarks so you can import them when you re-install.
Uninstall Secure Browser via Programs and Features - Reboot
Run the removal tool, reboot, run the installer import your favorites if you saved them.

Is Chrome installed and is it working properly?

If you really still run W8, update to W8.1 or W10.

Installed what through Avast ???

google chrome, i saw a option in left down corner when i opened avast installer

I’ve reported this to Avast. You’ll need to wait till we receive further instructions from them.

My avast secure browser shows white window when its starts, and doesnt show any tabs and then it becomes not responding.

I am receiving the following error in my Windows 7 System log.
DCOM got error “2” attempting to start the service AvastSecureBrowserElevationService with arguments “” in order to run the server:
{620A093F-79D3-4CAB-8CAD-EB1A39A8C0A2}

Then it is immediately followed by the following:
The Avast Secure Browser Elevation Service service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

I am having the same problem.

I am running a laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate

Avast Secure Browser 73.0.1270.87

uninstalled and reloaded many times

Please email me at chrisjilg@yahoo.com when there is a fix.

Hi. Same problem.

I went out for an Eastern vacations and when I returned I couldn’t see anything in the Secure Browser but the minimize, maximize and close buttons. I installed the latest version available but nothing changed. I have a Compaq 610, Windows 7 Home Premimum.

Thanks in advance.

It’s been reported to Avast. This is also the weekend and Easter weekend at that.
Don’t expect an immediate reply. Enjoy Easter.

Hello.
The same issue with 2 PCs (both win7 x64). After last Avast Secure browser update cannot launch browser- it hangs up with up to 100% CPU usage. Reinstall does not help. The only way is run browser in compatibility mode (winXP SP2 or 3) or switch to another browser.
