My Secureline ‘Stand alone’ version just updated automatically via in program process.
Hi W
Is there an advantage in using SecureLine as a Stand Alone ?
I am just curious.
Greetz, Red ( aka E ).
This would be better as a browser extension… :-\
Hi Arnold72
Do you mean something like anonymoX to promote the paid SecureLine service ?
Not a bad idea
Greetz, Red.
Hey Red,
I’m not sure if there is any advantage other then the obvious. The Standalone version serves as an option for anyone wanting a VPN service while not installing Avast Internet Security Products.
I use a licensed ‘standalone’ version for a couple of reasons; I wanted to support the product by using the service on a production machine that “does not” have Avast Security product installed, and I can also move it around on different machines regardless of Internet Security installed…
That being said, imho Secureline VPN service does not succeed well at “Connection consistency”, optional/additional settings (as they are non existent) or effective support; all areas that are better achieved by lesser expensive vpn services. :-\
Please, What is the latest version number of the STAND ALONE version on Secureline??
Anyone from Avast!!!
I’m getting different version numbers from 2 installations.
If no one cares to reply then I will not care to RENEW!!!
So be it.
As you didn’t get any answer, here’s the direct download link for SL standalone.

Thanks Asyn
I realize and have used the direct download of the version since it’s first establishment. I appreciate your response.
I’m frustrated as so many users are that we keeping reading about.
The response I wanted was from Avast as there are 2(TWO) versions flying around and the download link version shows v. 1.0.244.0 which is NOT the latest release and hasn’t been FOR Months!!
Screenshot 2 shows the version update months ago to 1.0.275.2
Omission
EDIT> I received an explanation here and thank Davidek for his time.

Bad, that would mean the version on their server is outdated. :o
