Good day, I recently purchased Avast’s SecureLine VPN a few days ago after discussing any constraints in using Netflix with the VPN (I am in the US) to access my Netflix account and was assured by support (via chat) that all I needed to do was use either the Gotham City or New York Servers (the servers do say “streaming”), however after purchasing the VPN, I tried to access my Netflix account and after logging in when trying to play one of the movies, I received the following error message:
“Whoops, something went wrong… Streaming Error. You seem to be using an unblocker or proxy. Please turn off any of these services and try again. For more help, visit netflix.com/proxy. For additional assistance in resolving this issue, please visit out Help Center. Error Code: M7111-5059”
Again, I was assured by your support folks that by connecting to “Gotham City” or New York at least would resolve this issue but it is STILL an issue. I did purchase this VPN under that assumption. Can anyone please help to resolve this ASAP. Thank you
Actually turning off the “Real Site” protection in Avast Internet Security seemed to work for some reason… I turned Real Site protection off for 10 min then tried both the win 10 netflix app and Netflix on chrome and both were able to play my movie with no issue and the minute I turned the Real Site protection back on, I got the old error message. I have had Avast Internet Security installed for over 3 years and never had an issue with my win10 app or using the browser except the minute I disconnected the VPN then both Netflix app and on the browser work as expected (with Avast internet security along with Real Site still running). So the only way to have this work is by disabling Real Site Protection? That is not good…
How can this be addressed as I really don’t feel good about disabling the protection I was paying for
