I’m in China using a Windows 10 PC that is fully updated. My Avast is version 170901-2.
About two weeks ago, the VPN just stopped connecting reliably to anywhere. As of today, I can almost never get any Avast Secureline VPN Connection.
Up to that point, it had been great. Always worked. Now I am back to being forced to use, what were, other less dependable connections.
I can’t find anything that has changed here other than the updates to Avast.
Try creating a user account. It won’t be administrative level, but you can use the account like for general use only.
After upgrading to Windows 10 Home Version 1703 OS Build 15063.540 about 2 weeks ago, Avast updated program to 17.6.2310 (build 17.6.3625.0). It was after that that SecureLine VPN was giving me the “run into technical issues” and the only way to resolve was to restart PC. Then PC started to get “STOP CODE: Page Fault in nonpaged area” which from what I gather means some faulty system service or faulty driver code, or some memory hardware issue but also 3rd party programs like Antivirus software can also trigger this error, as can a corrupted NTFS volume. I did disable Avast when updating to 1703 creative but not sure if SecureLine VPN was disabled or could be disabled at same time.
But since using a previously created user account, I haven’t had any of these problems. So far anyways. Hope this helps.
