The File Shield part of the application is constantly scanning the Time Machine backups which is slowing the machine, slowing backups, and constantly reporting the same files over and over again as “infected”. Part of the problem is that the “infected” file is moved to the chest, the chest is then backed up by Time Machine, and then the Time Machine backup is scanned, the infected file is found again, and moved to the chest again, and then backed up again, and over and over and over. The other part of the problem is that there is no way to tell the program to NOT
scan the Time Capsule volume. The file path “/volumes/Time Machine Backups” does not appear in the list of paths that can be excluded and there is no way to put it in manually.
Hello,
You can add the file to File Shield’s excluded paths via GUI->Preferences->Shields->Settings in FileShields part, click +, press cmd + shift + G and enter the path manually.
This is indeed annoying and we will fix this ASAP.
Thanks for reporting this.
