I 'm having a problem which seems related to Avast Mobile Security.
When I’m updating apps via Google Play every ‘new’ app is being checked and at the end of every check the app Google Play is sent to the background as if I had pressed the ‘square’ on the display. This also often happens with other apps, that the app shortly after launch is sent to the background.
Platform Sony XZ Premium 47.1.A.12.270; Android 8.0.0; Avast 6.12.3
Hi, we are not aware of such feature or bug. Is it happening after Avast Mobile Security is uninstalled?
And, another question - are you using any alternative launcher?
Hi, Tereza.
I did a test today by disabling the services of Avast Mobile Security (and cleanup) and stopped the running services (developer settings).
Then had the phone running like that for some hours and did some update/install via Google Play. (no check by Avast)
Result: Apps are still (Google Play always while installing) sent to the background, which leads to free Avast for being involved.
No, I’m not using alternative launcher.
Hi again, we have no idea or previous report from other users that our app could be causing this. A colleague of mine has searched through the Internet to find just a brief note from May 2018 that some Google Play Services version was causing this issue on your type of device.
You can try to run this updating process in safe mode. If the switching Google Play to background happens in safe mode, it is a system issue and you need to search in your system Settings, or hope for a system update which might solve the issue. If it doesn’t happen, then it is clear the issue is caused by one of the installed apps.
Hi Tereza
Thanks for your reply and information.
