I have several customers running the avast anti-virus software. The problem is that it sees a software package we use ( nuBridges CSOS ) as a virus and it shuts the software down when some tasks are performed.
Part of the problem is that the software runs within Internet Explorer as HTM pages and relies heavily upon ActiveX controls, vbscript and javascript.
It also has 3 windows services that run in the background. I was able to make avast ignore those programs, but not any of the HTM, VBS, or JS files.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as these customers can no longer order product from us.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Can you send the htm pages and other files for analysis to virus@avast.com ?
Maybe it will be useful to post a link to this thread also.
As a workaround, you can add these files to the Standard Shield provider (on-access scanning) exclusion list.
Left click the ‘a’ blue icon, click on the provider icon at left and then Customize. Go to Advanced tab and click on Add button…
You can use wildcards like * and ?. But be careful, you should ‘exclude’ that many files that let your system in danger.
