So I just made a full disk scan with Avast and even though it didn’t find any viruses, it labelled many ODT files as “decompression bombs” (see the attachment) and it was always the content.xml part, where the document’s text is stored. From what I’ve read, Avast tends to label lots of files it can’t unpack as decompression bombs, but I wanted to be sure, is there any way to confirm if the files are safe? It is very important to me because I keep many of these files, including in my backup drives, so I’d rather make sure they’re fine. I even redownloaded few documents (like this one) and scanned them as well, it turned out they were labelled as bombs too so maybe it’s not just my computer and Avast simply doesn’t like OO documents, but I’d rather not take any chances.

Decompression bomb means a file with high compression rate. A trick used in the old days to crash the AV scan engine

upload and test file(s) here, if tested before always click rescan for a fresh result
