I have a internet excellerater called ActiveSpeed
When iI try to run it Avast! sees it as a win 32 trogen and disables it
The command line is “C:\Program Files\Ascentive\ActiveSpeed\AS.exe”
sign of “Win:32 Trogen-gen {other}has been found in"C:\Program Files\Ascentive\ActiveSpeed\AS.exe”
comes up and the programme is stopped from running
If i run the programme manually beforeAvast! I have no problems
Using the exclusions command does not seem to work either
Any one got any idea how to have both loading automatically
Using XP operating system
Well avast won’t let what it considers malware (even if this is incorrect) to run, you would have to exclude it from scans, but before you do that you should confirm or deny the detection, see below. If the exclusion isn’t working you have either not put it in the on-access list in the Standard Shield or you have not entered the full path or have entered it incorrectly.
You could also check the offending/suspect file at: VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner and report the findings here. You can’t do this with the file securely in the chest, you need to extract it to a temporary (not original) location first, see below.
Create a folder called Suspect in the C:\ drive, e.g. C:\Suspect. Now exclude that folder in the Standard Shield, Customize, Advanced, Add, type (or copy and paste) C:\Suspect* That will stop the standard shield scanning any file you put in that folder. You should now be able to export any file in the chest to this folder and upload it to VirusTotal without avast alerting.
If it is indeed a false positive, see http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=34950.msg293451#msg293451, how to report it to avast! and what to do to exclude them until the problem is corrected.
SiteAdvisor rates Ascentive’s site red because it’s products provide little or no protection and may use deceptive sales tactics. It’s also related to Finally Fast.
