I have a problem when downloading a file with Firefox 15.0, and Avast 7.0.1466. The computer gets usually completely stucked ! I have tried to deactivate Avast webscan, and sandbox, but I still have the same problem. The Firefox extension of avast is not installed (but same problem happens when installed) . The only solution is to deactivate temporarily Avast before downloading a file with Firefox.
Am I the only user to experiment such a problem ?

The WebRep has nothing to do with protection and doesn’t impact on downloads, which you found by disabling it.
If you can browse ?
You should be able to download as it is the same principle.
Having disabled the Web Shield and the sandbox yet still have the problem there is something else going on.
How long have you had avast installed ?
Have (or did) you another Anti-Virus installed in this system, if so what was it and how did you get rid of it ?
What other security software do you have installed ?
It happens sometimes when downloading exe files.
Avast has been install for a looong time. But the problem has just begun with the last update I think.
Well avast isn’t a firewall so it shouldn’t block, but scan and alert to infection.
I would certain;y investigate a new firewall as it may well be that this very old firewall is not fully compatible.
