Avast Service consuming all Disk cycles...

Hum, looks like my last post was removed?

I am encountering situations where the Avast Service is consuming all of my disk cycles (according to Task Manager). This goes on for up to 10 minutes, and it’s happening on a regular basis now. Any idea what needs to be done to fix this?

Nope. https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=227245.0

Hi StreetScooby,
may I ask you to capture xperf and upload it for analysis.
Here are steps you need to do :

  1. Download xperf or wpa package it is win dependent so if you have win 7 download xperf for win 7 !

  2. Start cmd as admin and type to start profiling:
    xperf.exe -on DiagEasy+DISPATCHER+Profile -stackwalk profile+CSwitch+ReadyThread -start user -on 72AA3505-D4D6-4527-A088-92534DA1082C

… Induce the issue !

  1. Stop profiling
    xperf.exe -stop user -stop -d streetscooby_merged.etl

  2. Zip the streetscooby_merged.etl to streetscooby_5_2019.zip and upload it to ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming ( https://support.avast.com/en-eu/article/FTP-file-upload )

Thank you for report.
