Avast Service is Not Running

Hi Guys and Girls,

I am having all sorts of problems and hopefully someone can help!

First it keeps saying my firewall is off when it isn’t. It is also telling me I am unprotected.

When I try to login in to Avast via the ‘Avast Internet Security’ it says that there is an Internal Service Error’? Yet I can log in via IE and via my phone (but can’t do what I need to do using these ways.

When I try to update it just says failed to connect to service.

My Windows 10 recently updated itself so I’m assuming this is what is causing it as now my PC has decided to turn itself on (from shutdown, not sleep) every night at about 02:30!)

Please can someone help?

Repair Avast:

  1. Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → Avast
  2. Click on ‘Repair’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

Wow I feel such a fool for not thinking of that.

I have a migraine…I think I’ll put it down to that.
