Avast Service use 50% of my CPU and 1000mb of RAM consistently

Hello everyone,

Can anyone tell the reason Avast Service uses 50% of my CPU usage and 1000MB of RAM consistently?

It’s really slowing down my computer and I would love to get help, Screenshot is attached.

Repair Avast:

  1. Avast GUI → Settings → Troubleshooting
  2. Click on ‘REPAIR APP’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

I did what you suggested and it solve the problem.

Now the CPU usage is low (Going from 0% to 40% but mostly it’s down, and RAM usage is 350MB.

A quick update:

It goes back up to 30% CPU and 500MB RAM consistent.

Is this behavior is usual?
There is a way to lower this percentage of usage by unchecking/turning off certain Settings?
