avast! sets font to Times New Roman 10 in checked outgoing emails

hi forum, how’s going?!

well, I actually have a problem whith avast! scanning outgoing emails. Really, I had never used this feature 'cause I’m sure about my files but as the signature gives an extra security sense to the email -specially for the receiver- I want to implement it.

However, I encountered that all outgoing emails checked by avast! are automatically converted to Times New Roman 10 font instead keeping the font used in the email - Verdana 10 for the case.

to make things weirder, the html avast! signature is too in Verdana 10 so I wondering why of this font convertion ??? it remains in mistery to me

as allways, thank you for your time… :wink:

take care!

I have the same configuration, but the email body is left on Verdana 10 and ONLY the clean notes are kept on Times New Roman 10…
I did a check right now. But stranger than this is that my clean HTML note is:

<HTML>
<TABLE>

<P STYLE="FONT: 7pt/7pt verdana"><SMALL>
<P><SPAN STYLE="background-color: #E6E6E6;">
<B><A HREF="http://www.avast.com">avast! Antivirus</a>:<font color="green"> %TYPE% message clean. Virus Database: %VPS%.</B></SPAN></FONT>
</SMALL></P><TBODY></TBODY></TABLE></HTML>
%INBOUND=Inbound%
%OUTBOUND=Outbound%

See, Verdada 7pt :o

The default font for my emails is Arial 10, the Body text remains Arial 10 and clean note text is Verdana as in the .

I have previously edited my message style so it is better formatted (IMHO).

<html>

<TABLE width=500><HR>
<P style="FONT: 9pt/11pt verdana"><a href="http://www.avast.com">avast! Antivirus</a>: %TYPE% message clean.
<P style="FONT: 8pt/11pt verdana">Virus Database (VPS): %VPS%
Tested on: %TIMEDATE%
<FONT color=gray>avast! - copyright (c) 1988-2006 ALWIL Software.</FONT></P>
<TBODY></TBODY></TABLE>

</html>
%INBOUND=Inbound%
%OUTBOUND=Outbound%

Very strange that your clean note text is different to that in the code.

Hi DavidR, Tech, pleased to meet u :smiley:

Signature for clean outgoing emails is default one:

avast! Antivirus: Mensaje %TYPE% limpio.

Base de datos de Virus (VPS): %VPS% Comprobado el: %TIMEDATE% avast! - copyright (c) 1988-2006 ALWIL Software.

%INBOUND=entrante% %OUTBOUND=saliente%

So I don’t know what can be happen ??? - If you have any clue on this please let me know.

By the way, ¿que te parece una final Argentina - Brasil, Tech ?

Ustedes samben que nosotros metemos los goles… ;D 8) ;D obrigadooooo!!!

Vamos vamos Argentina, vamos vamos a ganar, que esta barra quilombera no te deja no te deja de alentar!!

I will investigate this issue, if you come along with any clue please let me know :slight_smile:

Martín

What email program are you using ?
I use OE and find it strange that the body font would/could change like this.

I use Oulook 2k3 Spanish with admin rights. I tested today this and keeps happing the same so I tested it again on my notebook running WinXP Pro Spanish -without ANY service pack- with Outlook 2003 Spa. too and guess what!? Yes, you’re right, all the same :stuck_out_tongue:

I give up for the moment and unchecked the “scan outgoing emails” box until find a solution. Thanks anyway :-\

Very strange ???

Rather than not scan outbound email, try it without the insertion of the clean note and see if that makes a difference.

Scanning your outbound email can be your first indication that there could be a spambot (trojan) at work.
