Don’t know of any way and haven’t seen anyone suggest a way. Maybe someone from Alwil can help after the weekend. Or a request for the next version? Settings are pretty straightforward, though, and take me typically 5-10 minutes or so to reestablish when I do a remove/reinstall. And the defaults work pretty well anyway.

That there is no specific option to save/export settings.
In 4.8 all that was advised was to save the avast4.ini, now there are a whole slew of .ini files for the different shields, so saving this different ini files might be a work around.
Personally I don’t see the need as most people use avast on the default settings or only a very few tweaks, that really wouldn’t be an hassle to set up again if you needed to. I have never felt the need for this in almost 6 years of using avast.
Is this a problem to enable the next version?

as said, there’s unfortunately no direct way to backup all settings, so no restore function either. This can be (unofficially, ie not supported) done by saving *.ini files found in the alwill folder (program data or all users), at your own risk.

Only if you disable the avast self-defence module first.
