Avast Shields Control Bug?

I’m trying to run Process Hacker 2 but to do this I need to disable the shields as Avast seems to be blocking it.

Now I’ve done this before with no issues but on this occasion all I’m seeing is this, there doesn’t seem to be anyway of affirming or otherwise?! The other screenshot is what I’m seeing when I try to run Process Hacker with Admin privs hence why I want to temporarily disable it.

Please do something about this idiotic out of date verification method of trying to guess what the letters are when submitting posts. It’s annoying as the letters are almost impossible to make out and I have to revert to audio.

Your images (aside being off-site) are unreadable, extremely blurred. You can use the ‘Attachments and other options’ below the input window’ click to expand.

The Captcha is an anti-spam measure and is only there for your first three posts.

No problem here, sharp and fine

Would have been handy if you had captured them, I certainly couldn’t rad them.

With the second image there are two missing buttons, the ‘OK Stop’ and ‘Cancel’ buttons.

I would suggest an Avast Repair > AvastUI > Menu > Settings > General > Troubleshooting > APP Repair. Restart after the repair.

No, no good still having the same problem :frowning:

Thank you for that info re the Captcha but as an example how on earth are you supposed to figure this out, ridiculous!!

Believe it or not those letters were ctpnpd :o

Its a very long time since I had less than 3 posts, they have to be difficult to combat spamming.

Believe it or not I would have made a reasonable guess on those letters, but might have had difficulty.

You can also use the ‘Listen to the letters’ option.

Did you do a complete reboot after the Repair ?

As opposed to an incomplete one

May try a reinstall + reboot.

As regards the captcha I couldn’t even hear what she was saying clearly ::slight_smile:

You are over that hurdle no guessing the letters or buying a hearing aid

A clean reinstall might be best.
Clean Reinstall:

Follow the instructions in the link in 1.

Thanks David, yep as soon as W10 forces me to update/reboot it will be my first task.

Thank you for your help

You’re welcome.
