avast! skins

Hi all!
I really love avast! skin feature, but there is a long time nobody makes new skins :frowning:
Few monthes ago I had an idea to make avast! vista sidebar gadget, but this idea was unsupported.
I think will be good to make new Vista Ultimate skin like avist! but with black, Vista ultimate background, I think it will looks great 8)
What do you think about it?

The problem is that I can’t make skins ot gadgets :-\ . I want to ask someone make it for people who love avast!

Seems that there are more avast lovers than programmers on forums :stuck_out_tongue:

The problem as you are no doubt aware is:

  1. these skins use ActiveSkin that is no longer available.
  2. it takes time to learn how to use the tools.
  3. those who have used the tools are just avast users like yourself who are not paid for this work that they have done and it takes time to build, test and get it approved by avast.
  4. some of them answered your original topic offering a copy of the software but they weren’t able to devote the time to building it.

So I don’t believe this idea was unsupported.

So if ActiveSkin is no longer available it means there isn’t possibility to make new skins? and about persons who made skins I think will be good to give them avast! pro license for x time to support avast! skin feature. Will be good Alwil to offer something like that: Make avast! skin and you will receive pro license for 1 year 8)

  1. it is still possible for those who have the skinning software to create more, but that must be their choice and time I would say is the factor not remuneration.

  2. I have no influence over Alwil that people should be given Pro licenses.

  3. avast! (Alwil software) also have skinning software, but they I would imagine have more important issues with avast development.
