So I’ve been using Avast Free for years. Never had an issue with it interfering until July 1st or 2nd. I uninstalled it around May for troubleshooting purposes related to a different program. Reinstalled it in July, and ever since then it’s been completely screwing with my connection. Speedtest.net shows my speed as 80-90 mbps down/6-7 mbps up. Tried pinging my network adapter, no packet loss. However, websites like Facebook or Tumblr won’t load. Youtube will load, but when l try to watch a video, it will only load at 144p and will struggle to buffer even at that resolution. Online games give huge lag spikes and very poor connection - pretty much unplayable. I noticed all of these problems went away when I did a system restore to a point when I didn’t have Avast. Anyone know what the problem would be? Something in the settings maybe? My computer is relatively old, but I’ve never had an issue with Avast until July 2017.
