Avast Smart Scan

Scan stops at 93% on Performance, have to kill it.

Anybody know why ?

First thing to try is repair of Avast:
Menu>Settings>Troubleshooting [Repair App]

I would also do a System “Restart” for good measure.

Thank you, I went to troubleshooting and clicked “Add/Modify Components”, unchecked “Cleanup”>Change>Restarted my computer.
The Performance is now gone. I do not need a program to tell me what is slowing down my computer, it would only list all the programs I need.
So you put me on the track to resolving the Performance issue. Again, thank you.

Personally I don’t feel the NOT so Smart Scan is worth the time, much of what it finds are more a vehicle to promote paid avast programs.

With a resident (on-access) scanner the need for on-demand scans is much depreciated. For the most part dormant/inert files are being scanned, the other active files are going to be scanned by the resident shields when they are activated.

This for me is also true of the NOT so Smart Scan. If you want to run on-demand scans, choose the specific one you want.

I agree with David.
