Well after using Avast for many years installing it on Customers PC’s the Free version and when it runs out I recommended to buy the full version. I give up it has long surpassed a new user program. New users don’t have a clue how to setup any program really but Avast has made it very difficult. The complaint’s I receive why all the popups, why do I have to upgrade everything all the time. Remember new users install a program and want it to work they have no idea about custom install to not install a lot of it. You may respond well they need to learn well they don’t have to. Many pc users use the pc everyday for simple tasks and that is all they want to do. Do not expect users to become PC pros they don’t need to be to do the things they want. Expecting users to be pc pros would be the same as any person that drives a car should know how to change the brakes. I wish Avast all the luck in there endeavour’s sure wish they would go back to a normal AV program without all the add-on.
If you want complete simplicity and no intervention then I recommend you try Bitdefender Free version. I tested it for a while but prefer Avast because I want more details and control, but Bitdefender Free is ideal to install and forget it is even on your PC, great protection also.
I don’t recommend other BD versions, their interface is a confusing mess, Avast is better, but not as good as Avast v7 which was excellent and should be returned for Windows 7 users as an available choice at installation.
