Avast Software Updater is not working using W8.1 64bit

G’day Avast,

My Avast Internet Security v18.2.2328 software updater is not working see image below, I’ve done a repair nothing has been resolved and I did a complete re-installed and I’m still having the same issue.

I’m not 100% if this is a bug issue might be related to W8.1 64bit platform, I’ve been away from Avast forum for a long time and I forget how to upload a file to FTP for Avast to review whether there is an error issue. I forget what Avast tool software to create a special file before uploading to FTP.

Hi Speedy, SU works for me.
Try to reset the SU database.

G’day Asyn, I just about to leave house. How do I reset the reset the SU database? I cannot find this in the Avast settings would you please provide details, and when I get home tonight from Lodge I’ll see if I can resolve this issue before I go to bed tonight.

Avast GUI → Settings → Components → SU → Reset option is on the bottom

There is no reset option, only Install & Uninstall Components see image below.

Won’t let me click on to customizing because the texts are grey out, doesn’t give me the option of the screenshot you’ve post Bob

Try to uninstall/reinstall the SU component. (Reboot in between)

Nope, it didn’t work at all same issue, I need to create a file for Avast to uploaded to FTP for them to investigate. Could you please set a red flag for Avast to have this issue resolved.
