I recently signed up for and paid for an Avast anti-virus subscription.
Now I find that through this paid subscription I’m regularly being solicited for other Avast products. Not only that but Avast is scanning my computer for things that are unrelated to anti-virus so as to sell me their products related to speeding up my computer and VPN services.
I paid money for Anti-virus protection! NOT for my personal computer to used as a platform to be scanned without my permission for Avast to sell me more products.
Somebody tell me how to stop this UNSOLICITED advertising or going to stop my subscription and take my business elsewhere.
DavidR and Eddy thank you for taking the time to reply to my question!
DavidR your solution worked perfectly, appreciate the help.
Eddy your advice if taken would no doubt have worked. Your advice is also condescending and dismissive. Contrast your reply with DavidR—obviously you have a different agenda and did not like what I said about Avast’s using the sneaky tactics that I mentioned.
If Avast was not forcing advertising on people the question would never have been asked and you wouldn’t have to defend Avast by using a critical reply that puts down the person asking.
You used comparison in your reply-----you would do well to use comparison and learn something from DavedR about actually saying something helpful, that is IF being helpful is in your agenda.
I’m not defending avast at all.
Just saying that you (and everyone else) should spend time to learn how to use a application that you want to use.
Learn what options it is providing, what the settings are for/doing etc.
