I’ve been having this problem for the past 2 weeks and I am getting worried. Why can’t some files be scanned? Is it because they might be password protected (I am pretty sure I didn’t encrypt my iTunes folder) or they might be corrupt? And if it is due to password protection, how do I allow Avast to scan it regardless? Finally, what does it mean by the file is a decompression bomb? Please help. I don’t know if this is a big issue.
files that can not be scanned are just that, no more no less. it does not mean they are infected
avast is just giving you a scan error report and the reason why
many programs protect there files with passwords, usually security programs but also otheres
if you search this forum there is lots of info as this has been asked a million times
compression bomb is a file that unpacks to a very large file, so avast will not unpack and scan it
the name is the most dangerous here. it was once a old trick used by the virus creators, but have never seen a real one used
