Hi All:
When Avast 4.8 Home updates the definitions file, the update sounds are distorted. Also, when I test the any and all Avast sounds using the Windows sound control panel, they are distorted. But when I go to the Avast folder and click on any of the wav files, they all play perfectly (through Media Player). I am pretty sure there is nothing wring with my speakers, sound card, and drivers, as the sounds generated by some other apps are not distorted. And Yes, there are other apps on my machine that generated distorted sounds as well. The culprit seems to be Vista Service Pack 2, which I recently installed.
Has anyone else also encountered anything like this?
