What wasn’t to nice was a case of food poisoning which I picked up on Friday night.
It’s the reason that this was posted this late. It was a bit of a struggle making today’s presentation.

Some of the members had also attended the
APCUG Regional Computer Conference and said that
they needed more than just on presentation to absorb all the information.
It was a very interesting afternoon with some very interesting people.
Maybe that’s why I became an official member of their Computer Society. :slight_smile:
I was invited to Supper after the meeting and had something very light…

7-17-2012 Lehigh Valley Computer Club in Schnecksville, PA had 37 people in attendance for tonight’s presentation.
Their meeting is held at the Lehigh Carbon Community College.

The flight from Albuquerque to Minneapolis was uneventful and so was the flight from
Minneapolis to NY’s La Guardia airport until we came to withing 120 miles of NY.
At that point, the pilot informed us that there where some weather delays and we might be delayed
by about 1 hr.
15 minutes later came the next announcement: We’re low on fuel and are being diverted to Syracuse NY for
refueling. About 1 1/2 hrs later, we were airborne again and on our way to the original destination.
The landing was smooth as silk at La Guardia. Unfortunately they didn’t have a gate available and we sat on the tarmac
for some time. Once they finally assigned us a gate, and we pulled up to the Jetway, we where told that the Jetway had been set up for a
larger plane and they where not able to align it with or smaller plane due to mechanical difficulties with the Jetway.
At about 11 PM, the problem was finally solved and we where able to get off the pane. The plane was originally supposed to land at 5 PM.
The important part is that I did arrive safe and sound despite all of the delays. My seat assignment for that plane was 13 A.
I think I’ll stay away from row 13 on any future flight I take.

Getting ready for the presentation at Rockland PC UG.

On Sept 5th, I had 2 presentations. The afternoon session was held at the
Jewish Community Campus in West Nyack , NY, and had 29 attendees.
The presentation was followed by a Q&A session.

That evening at 7 PM following the Rockland PC Users Group’s Q&A session,
I did my presentation for the 38 members that attended the meeting.
Question where taken and answered as they came up during the presentation and unrelated question where discussed after the presentation.
The Rockland PC Users Group is another great source for answers to computer related problems and,
if you live in the Nyack, NY area is a Users Group worth checking out.

The presentation was well received by the 52 member who where in attendance. The members also had a lot of questions some of these
came during the presentation and the rest where asked during the Q&A session that followed the presentation.
As you can see from their website, this club is very active and if you live in the area is a club worth joining.

On 9-7-2012 I was at the Icon PC Users Group in Brentwood LI, NY.
Approximately 40 Members and guests attended the meeting.
We had a lot of questions both during the presentation and also afterwards.
The evening ended with a get together at the Peter Pan Diner in Bayshore LI, NY
where we discussed some further avast related material.

This makes a very interesting read. Must be rather hectic for you. By the way as you meet a lot of people out there. How many of them you think are long time avast users? Can you make a fair guess at that number. As I assume avast av must be quite wide-spread in the States. Keep up the good work,

Hello Damian,

I wish I could say that a lot of them have been using avast! for a long time but that’s not usually the case.
Most of the people at these presentations that are using a free AV program are using AVG or MSE.
That pictures changes to some extent when I return to a club. At that point, I usually find a greater number of
avast! users than before the first presentation.
I do know that if these presentations aren’t helping in converting users, I would no longer be doing them. :slight_smile:
