The topic of today’s presentation was “Use CCleaner for more than cleaning your hard drive”
I combined a PowerPoint presentation with an actual hands-on demonstration on the latest
version of Ccleaner [b]https://www.ccleaner.com/[/b]
The presentation was well received and there were lots of questions.
I was also able to answer questions via a live demonstration which made the answers easier to understand.

We covered a broad range of topics today.
In addition to the Avast Weekly Security News Update, we also covered five security tips
for seniors, infrared broiling, music alternatives in older cars, Fitbit update and,
we ended it with some peanut gang music entertainment.

This afternoon’s presentation was “All about the Avast Secure Browser”
I showed a few videos and then shared my screen, and we dissected the Secure Browser.
We covered all the settings, and I explained the importance of the “Banking Mode”.
There were lots of questions from the club members both during and after the presentation.
We also covered the importance of using a VPN and a Password Manager.
I also offered some information about remote assistance and its dangers.

cellphone battery safety. The final part of the presentation, which isn’t streamed to
YouTube, featured Bobby Darin and Connie Francis.

A great start to a new week. We covered a lot of topics.
Cyber Security, ZOOM etiquette, Galaxy 4 watch, fall detection
as a feature of the Galaxy 4. Easier and possibly better alternatives
to that tech in other devices. Part three of Podcasts with selections and
suggestions. There was a 20 minute Q&A that ended the show.

Last night I had the pleasure of visiting with the club via ZOOM.
They met at their usual meeting place, I was at home utilizing ZOOM
The topic for the night was “Using Ccleaner for more than removing crap”.
The presentation was well received and the club members had lots of questions.
Since this is a hands on presentation, I was able to answer their questions by
demonstrating the answer right on my computer and sharing the information with the club.
Nothing get the message across any better than a live demonstration.

sleep tracking with a watch and analyzing the findings,
VPN vs Firewall - why you need both and an AV like Avast to keep you safe,
Starlink update. We ended with a short musical look at the new Cinderella.
There was also the usual 20 minute Q&A that followed the show.

Another content filled show. We covered the latest security related information, a final
summary of Locast, an update on e-bikes, how to share large files and a little music to end
the show.
A Q&A session followed. I was able to demonstrate changing the default search engine in the
Chrome browser and how to use it once the change was made.

was the first of 28 presentations that I will be doing this month.
October is Cyber Security Awareness Month.
I’m doing my part to spread that message. It was a good meeting.
Zoom makes it possible to bring the information even to smaller clubs.
The meeting was followed by a productive Q&A session.

This mornings hybrid meeting was for the Victoria Computer Club.
As you can see from the image, some attended in person and a few joined via Zoom.
Judging by the interaction and Q&A participation, the presentation was well received.
During the Q&A sessions, I answered some questions about e-mail etiquette and security.
We also talked about VPN usage and avast OMNI which unfortunately still isn’t available in Canada.

This is the first of 4 presentation I’ll be doing today.
It was nice to visit with the members of the Computer Booters today.
It’s been a few years since I ‘visited’ this club even if it was only remotely.
After the presentation, I had some questions on the price of Avast OMNI and the
Family plan of Avast One.

Today’s second presentation was for the members of Highland Computer Club.
This is a small club but they asked a lot of question following the presentation.
These questions included what is a sandbox, why use a VPN,
does avast protect iOS devices and,
how does OMNI work. It was an interesting meeting.
