A few days ago I disabled my local area connection for a few minutes, then enabled it again. Ever since then, when ever I turn on my computer avast gives me these following errors.

How can I fix this problem?
I have looked through the options and I did not see anything that would cause this, also I tried re-installing avast!
You might want to edit these links and wrap them in (img) (/img) tags replace the () brackets with square brackets, that way the image will be loaded automatically. It also won’t directly show your photobucket url.
Thanks for your concern, have locked full access to my account. Now only I should be able to get into all of my pictures.
Have you tried a repair of avast, that may resolve the update issue.
How would I go about repairing avast?
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove
Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair).
You must be connected to the internet while repairing.

I tried what you said, and I am sorry to say it didnt work.
Its still saying that it cannot protect my mail, blah blah blah…
Also that it cannot connect to download updates:

That is possibly your firewall blocking avast.setup, can you check your firewall logs or the allowed application/programs list and see if avast.setup is on it. If it is, remove it and do a manual update and your firewall should ask permission again, allow access to the internet.
I only have a harware firewall, its never given me problems before. What ports does avast use?
WebShield works like a local proxy on port 12080.
Internet Mail provider uses the default ports: 110 for pop3, 25 for smtp, 143 for imap. Other ports could be set into the Redirection tab of the settings.
I removed a program I recently installed named netlimiter, and it solved the problem. Thanks for all the help.
