I have avast 4.1 home on my home computer and decided to network my computer with one of my flatmates. When i startup my computer avast icon in the system tray has a red circle and takes a little while to carry out any actions or to run normally. When i take the computer off the network avast runs instantly and no red circle appears. Is there a reason for this?
I run Windows XP, 2800+ AMD Athlon XP, 512MB Ram
Cheers
The red circle appears while avast providers are being loaded…
Do you run too much programs at startup? This could delay because the system will be stressed…
As Technical suggested, perhaps the addition of the network is stressing your computer resources on start-up. ???
I rather think that something is trying to connect to network, and this call is blocking the other operations of the operating system… but it’s just a guess.
This is almost what I mean.
Maybe colincr could post a list of your startup programs and services…
