I started a full scan and I had to leave so I shutdown the pc, when I came back and I logged in, I saw Avast continuing the scan even though I shutdown the pc. Is this normal?

And it also depends upon your scan settings. ???
The above might sound redundant.
Just thought I’d ask. 
Half an hour I guess. I tried again, the scan restarts again on reboot if you shutdown your pc and boot again. There seems to be no settings to stop it. Let me know if there is.
