I submitted a free trial subscription to try out the product. I did not agree for any new subscriptions and I definitely did not use any subscriptions for a year. I still have a free antivirus version on my computer, although avast took 53.44 eur from me on 17.06.2018. I have a pdf from bank and I can provide screenshots of my current avast statement. I do not need a yer subscription anyway and want a refund.
Refund request: https://support.avast.com/en-us/contact/sales_refund/
When you started the trial you also supplied your credit card info which is used to pay for the subscription unless you cancel it before the trial ends.
If you don’t cancel. you get charged.
At this point, use the link supplied to ask for a refund.
It would certainly solve a lot of these payment issues if Avast would quit asking for payment details just to run a trial for testing, payment details should only ever be given as trial nears it’s term and if the user wishes to continue using the product.
Absolutely couldn’t agree more.
The requesting of Payment information is one thing, but to require some kind of “cancellation” when simply testing a
“Trial version” is imo misleading and poor strategy for building trusting customer relations.
I myself was going to test a Trial but refused to provide payment info.
Stuff like this really disappoints me!~
Oh my, thank you so much. I really panicked, this kind of policy is really wrong.
Thank you again for being so responsive and helpful!
You’re welcome.
Avast offers a short trial that doesn’t require giving your Credit Card info.
Avast also offers a longer trial that requires the Credit Card.
Avast currently also offers a free 30 trial of their Beta version - No Credit Card Needed.
