My Avast subscription was about to expire in a few days.
They had an old CC on file, I did not want to update my payment information to renew my subscription. A few days ago a authorization email came through from Avast saying my payment went through with my new CC information on file.
Avast STOLE MY INFORMATION to renew itself. What a fucking piece of shit company.
From memory, if you have or had a payment mandate (not just for Avast) in force with your CC company (like a standing order) that would have been carried forward to the new card number.
You would still have to cancel payment mandates/auto renewal so they aren’t actioned in future.

They didn’t steal it, you gave it to them for auto renewal purposes.
As David said if you don’t cancel Auto Renewal, then the information is used when the renewal is due.
