Hi,
for file search I use Locate32. It builds up a search database to speed up the search process.
While the database is being updated, no program reacts any more and the File System Shield is constantly active. It shows only locate32.exe as last scanned file, but the graph shows that hundreds or thousands of files are being scanned. Does Avast scan all the files that Locate32 scans for the search database? Or does it scan Locate32 again and again?
(Transient and persistent caching are enabled.)
With the File System Shield deactivated the hole process is much faster. This is also valid for other programs that e.g. scan the system, like Autoruns.
It seems like Avast needs too much of the resources of my system.
A similar problem is posted here http://forum.avast.com/index.php?&topic=73153.0
This is very annoying. Is there a solution?
