After days of consulting with EA and the community on EA, someone finally mentioned something that caught my eye. Avast.
Avasts behavior shields appear to stop the Origin In Game Overlay from working in some games, for me the overlay doesn’t work in The Sims 4.
I don’t know how to report this because it’s not a specific file I can pinpoint, it’s not giving me any warning or anything, it’s
just stopping Origin In Game from working in the background.
Origin in game is vital to more than just an overlay, it handles in-game purchases and other things
of that sort.
Anyone have any ideas? I’d rather Avast fix this than having to pinpoint a file and add an exception.
Hi,
I don’t know if this is the case, because the feature should be turned off (by default, unless you changed it in geek settings), but It’s possible it is caused by DnD mode. Try to add Origin to the list of ignored apps for DnD mode (Settings>Performance>Do Not Disturb Mode>Don’t block notification form these apps).
If it helps did you by any chance turned on Disable draw over window in geek settings?
If you didn’t changed anything in the settings, please try to turn it on and off again in geek settings (Settings> into Search box enter geek:area) and try it agian (without Origin in ignored apps)
I did everything to no avail, and then i found one more thing we have in common.
God damned comodo firewall.
I uninstalled comodo firewall and poof, all my problems disappear, extremely sorry to bother you about this.
I will be consulting with comodo about this, extremely annoying.
