Avast stops web access

Since Wednesday whenever I start explorer avast reports lspcs.dll as adware and will not let it run.

lspcs.dll is part of cybersitter and is not I believe adware.

How do I stop it from being found so that I can access the internet without disabling avast?

Steve

Use the Exclusion lists:

For the Standard Shield provider (on-access scanning):
Left click the ‘a’ blue icon, click on the provider icon at left and then Customize.
Go to Advanced tab and click on Add button…

For the other providers (on-demmand scanning):
Right click the ‘a’ blue icon, click Program Settings.
Go to Exclusions tab and click on Add button…

You can use wildcards like * and ?.
But be carefull, you should ‘exclude’ that many files that let your system in danger.

You can submit the file to Alwil, for analysis, sSend an email with the file (false positive or infected) to: virus@avast.com
Inform in the email boby a link to this thread

Thanks.

My internet connection was also stopped when Avast falsely “found” the lspcs.dll file.

In the exclusions list can the name of the item such as “lspcs.dll” be added to the list or do I have to specify a specific path such as “C/windows/system/lcpcs.dll”?

lspcs.dll
or
C:\windows\system\lcpcs.dll
or
C:\windows\system\lcpcs.*

are valid… look the correct slashes to use.
