Avast Sucks

Avast says my license expired, bullshit, they automatically took 39.00 out of my credit card, and how the hell do you contact them, I can not find any customer support icons.

Welcome to the forum.
To solve you problem, try the following:
Submit a support ticket via: https://support.avast.com/Tickets/Submit

See if a repair of avast is solving it.

To contact avast:
There very clearly is a link to support on their website.
https://support.avast.com

If you did it from one of these 3 companies (Nexway, Digital River, or Avast Store). Follow the instructions clearly.

Nexway: https://avast.nexway.com/

Digital River: https://www.findmyorder.com/sstore?Action=DisplayHomePage&SiteID=findmyor&Locale=en_US

Avast Store: https://store.avast.com/DRHM/store?Action=DisplayCustomerServiceOrderSearchPage&SiteID=avast

As previously mentioned in this post by Eddy and bob3160, submitting an ticket is also another way to solve it.

I can not find any customer support icons.
hmm .... where did you look?

Hi All

Avast sucks badly and you use at your own peril. This is my story.

Working on my computer and only just noticed that Avast has installed a software update to the main program. Now I don’t want or need this and recent program updates have always led to computer problems (happy to elaborate if anybody wants the details). I regularly just update the definitions file - but manually when I want. I only connect to the internet periodically and only for specific tasks.

On checking the Avast update settings I then noted that in installing the FORCED, UNWANTED update that Avast have overridden the manual settings and reset them all to automatic. Bit disappointed with Avast for firstly doing the FORECED, UNWANTED install but then changing the settings is really a bit rude.

But then I decided I’d just do a quick System Restore which is when I got a really nasty surprise. System Restore had been turned OFF. Now having created a manual restore point less than a week ago, I knew that it was on and working. Next logical step is to ask Avast but BAD LUCK you can’t.

I have a paid subscription to Avast but despite this, the only support that Avast provides is their next to useless FAQ section. And as expected there is nothing in their about FORCED, UNWANTED updates or DISABLING system restore.

Very disappointing as I had genuinely like the Avast product in the nearly 2 years I have been using. Now, I can only recommend that you never, ever take the risk and use this product.

Fatrevvy

Depending on the version of Avast you had installed Avast will update to the current stable version if you are using an out of date version.

Avast also doesn’t turn off system restore, Windows can automatically disable system restore if running an SSD though if you are running one.
