Avast suddenly is blocking my Thunderbird email downloads

email was downloading fine for years but today, for some unknown reason, it’s blocked:

Some lines of the Certificate shown when I ‘View’ are:
Organizational Unit generated by Avast Antivirus for SSL/TLS scanning
Organization Avast Web/Mail Shield
Validity___ Not Before 8/30/2020, 9:18:27 PM
Not After 11/28/2020, 8:18:27 PM

Need help to fix (no way to get answer from Avast as I have the free version), so my current option appears to be delete Avast…

Thanks again for the info Asyn… Made good reading, but that was not it…
My hosting service replaced an old SSL with a new one without telling me, and after running the AutoSSL, all started working again…
