this is really bothering me. i’ve used avast free for well over a year, and the typical scan rate has always been around 30MB a second. now it will scan a 7GB file of avis in 0.0 seconds. i’ve uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times and messed with the advanced settings to no avail. weirdly i just tried it on some flacs and the scan speed was back to around 30MB/sec. i also tried it on my home folder and it went through it at about 17GB/sec. i am absolutely baffled and quite concerned. can anyone tell me if they’ve suddenly made some ridiculous improvement to avast’s speed, or if this is a known issue that can be resolved. my worry is that it isn’t actually scanning at all. i’m on windows 7 home.
