Hey so… yeah I were using my steam and a (friend - not really a friend just someone i added to steam friendslist!) he sent me a link to some free games site. As i have experienced this before i used any antivirus software and I actually clicked the link before thinking I got hacked, my fault I know. But yeah I don’t think i should be so foolish this time so I contacted Avast! support and reported the link.
I waited a few hours(a day) before I got a reply, ok fine not too long waiting time. But the respones I got from him wasn’t so fun. I actually felt stupid that i reported this site afterwards. He’s selection of words / comments wasnt so appealing to me. So i actually wrote “Sorry that i reported this site to Avast!”.
Is it supposed to be this way? I truly love Avast! IS and its features but after having that reply from that Support i dont feel Avast! is really living up to its reputation.
Hm, what exactly got infected or hacked. Seeing you opened the webpage inside SafeZone, i don’t think you got infected at all because well, nothing can be run inside SafeZone except the tools already available inside SafeZone itself. avast! however will still display a Network Shield warning if it finds a malicious URL being accessed or something transfered through Web Shield while browsing.
Was the warning from avast! a red popup that said “NETWORK SHIELD”? Either way, if you really ran the suspected link inside SafeZone, i wouldn’t really worry about it as there is no way of getting infected from within the SafeZone.
No maybe i wrote sluderidge… But PREVIOUS time i clicked a link inside steam I got hacked. Not this time! That’s the thing, the website wasnt malicious but the way he answered made me feel bad about reporting it.
Thank you! i wasn’t too sure about if SafeZone really were so safe as it sounded.
