I have sent an email to avast support asking them to resend my avast pro key as I lost my hard drive recently and had to re-install everything. I used the faq suggestion of re-registering and I got a reply but they are simply sending me a key for home edition and I purchased a 3 year pro subscription about 5 months ago. Any idea’s on how to get them to actually answer me, instead of sending me an automatic reply?
Try sales @ avast.com (without the spaces), give as much information as possible, when you purchased, where (using avast.com and share*it on-line processing, avast distributor, etc.), what email address you used. With that hopefully they can track down your pro subscription.
Well…I’ve tried to email sales @ avast.com with all my purchase details, including a copy of my paypal reciept for the actual purchase and no-one has replied…what do I do now???
Check your spam filter. It’s possible that they have replied and the reply has been blocked. The couple of times I contacted them, the reply was prompt.
Paypal receipt?
Where did you make the purchase, exactly?
Avast support have been good to me in the past i admit but since the probs with 4.8 kicked off no one seems to want to know or care via email or on this board, i hate companies that do that. My Subscription ends with them in September and im off to Nod32 then.
Did you not read oldmans’s reply, I have found the same. He also got a reply on the forums to his first post within 25 minutes and a reply to his second post in under 5 minutes and a reply from Vlk early this morning (his time).
Yet almost 7 hours after his second post we have no reply from We are Borg, so I think the your comment of “know or care via email or on this board” is way short of the mark.
Did you not read Vlk’s reply the avast on-line payment system (Share*It) doesn’t use paypal as far as I’m aware, so I think Vlk’s concern might be We are Borg has purchased from a fraudulent site. We are trying to help but it is a two way process.
No, Share*It provides possibility to buy Avast subscription via PayPal. At least this possibility was present 2 weeks ago.
Thanks psw, looks like a new option, which is quite good for those who don’t want to give out their CC number and details over the net.
Sorry I have not replied immediately…I am a busy man and although this is an annoying issue it is not life and death so excuse me if I only check for answers once a day. I emailed sales with a request for resolving this issue as was suggested here. I copied my transaction record from the paypal web site into my email and i have not received a reply. I check my spam folders everyday for emails that don’t belong there and I also have the domain name avast in my safe senders list. I used the share it purchase portal and paid via paypal…as far as I know there is no other way to buy it.
You used to pay by credit card. Like I said, they have been prompt with me. I don’t understand it. Does your isp have a spam filter? That’s where mine is.
Hopefully someone will let them know of your problem.
I just emailed them again…I’ll be checking every mail I get…and I turned off all my junk mail filters too…just in case.
Have you tried sending using a different email account (different domain) to see if it is the ISP that has a filter, so you don’t even see it arrive on your system for anti-spam filtering.
Just got a reply…and a key…looks like they never received the first one.
Thx all!
Your welcome, good to hear that the problem is resolved.
That’s good, 8) you’re welcome.
