Avast Suspicious Message! There are too many identical e-mails in appointed time

Hey guys,

This is my first time posting, and I don’t know much about computers, so speaking newby as much as possible would be greatly appreciated!
I keep getting tons of pop-ups from avast saying “Suspicious Message! There are too many identical e-mails in appointed time…”

I read some other forums and they suggested to download a program called Hijackthis or something, and to do a scan and post the logfile. I did so, here is what it said:

it keeps popping up with this message, and it’s getting quite annoying.

Thanks ahead of time for your help!

Windows XP Service Pack 3 has been available for almost 2 years that provides many Critical Updates and performance improvements.

Go to Control Panel then Automatic Updates then select Automatic (recommended) or at least Notify me but don’t automatically download or install them.

IE8 is more secure than IE6 and has a lot better performance:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/Internet-explorer/default.aspx

wwwpos32.exe is a harmful program
http://htlogs.com/what-is-wwwpos32-exe-how-to-remove-wwwpos32-exe

Go to Secunia Online Software Inspector then run it to see what other applications are vulnerable:
http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/online

I suggest:

  1. Clean your temporary files.
  2. Schedule a boot time scanning with avast with archive scanning turned on. If avast does not detect it, you can try DrWeb CureIT! instead.
  3. Use MBAM (or SUPERantispyware or even Spyware Terminator) to scan for spywares and trojans. If any infection is detected, better and safer is send the file to Quarantine than to simple delete them.
  4. Test your machine with anti-rootkit applications. I suggest avast! antirootkit or Trend Micro RootkitBuster.
  5. Make a HijackThis log to post here or this analysis site. Or even submit the RunScanner log to to on-line analysis.
  6. Clean your Hosts file (replacing it) with HostsMan tool.
  7. Disable System Restore and then reenable it again.
  8. Immunize your system with SpywareBlaster.
  9. Check if you have insecure applications with Secunia Software Inspector.
