Avast!&Sygate firewall 5.5 or ZA

OK here is the problem.As we all see sygate firewall is very good and stable firewall BUT it’s really old and I don’t want to stay outdated.So I hope an update will come soon!I read in this forum that the new version of ZA free will work with avast! without any problems.Please give me advice-what is the best option.I really like sygate and ZA is great too…

There was a driver problem with zonealarm, not sure if its been fixed yet - caused crashes when used with avast (maybe others to). I used zonealarm 1 month ago and it crashed, so unless theres a newer one since then I’m sticking to sygate. I like sygate, but like you said it hasnt been updated for along time and I dont know if its become less secure.

I think the new driver will come with the new version and if sygate is going to stay outdated i guess i will try ZA.Just waiting for the next version.

Yea nothing wrong with it. Really i dont why some people have problems with ZA. Been using it since ver4 and had no problem. Even with combine with Avast. Plus Both Sygate and Kerio are being discontinue. So look else place for firewall, choose ZA ;D

Nothing wrong? :o ;D Some users like me have suffer the BSOD with the current version of Zone Alarm. Others don’t seem to have the problem which is great, but that doesn’t mean that new users are 100% safe. :wink:

I tried ZA and it’s working fine so far…Just a message from StrongDC++ for corrupted downloads because of ZA but i will test it for some days and see if there are any problems.
