Avast tray Icon missing

Hi,
I have recently purchased avast! 4 Professional Edition. But when I installed it the blue tray icon is missing. But I am able to scan with Avast. I tried different options which were mentioned in this forum like,

  1. uninstall using avast uninstall utility and reinstall it.
  2. Schedule a boot time scan to find any virus in computer
  3. Manually tried to run ashDisp.exe (it is not running at all and giving no errors)

But no result. I have noticed these things also in my avast,

  1. When I click on Virus chest I am getting the following error (Initialization of Chest files Action was completed with errors! Program cannot use Chest client: (null) —>Description: Virus chest server is not running. RPC communication failed.)
  2. I am not able change my resident scanner status from disabled.

Earlier I have installed Etrust, AVG and Total security scanner in my system. But everything is uninstalled and rebooted my system before installing Avast.
Can someone give a solution for this…

Please, post the last 300-350 lines of avast log: C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\log\Setup.log

Which was your old antivirus? How did you remove it?

Previously I installed 3 different antivirus,
First - CA Etrust 7.0 and uninstalled using Windows Add/remove utility
Second - Quick heal Total Security and uninstalled using Windows Add/remove utility
Third - AVG 7.5 and uninstalled using Windows Add/remove utility

Now only Avast is installed in my PC.

C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\log\Setup.log is attached…

Seems that leftovers of that antivirus are preventing the correct installation of avast.

ooh…Any solution other than re-installation of windows?

In their websites, aren’t specialized tools to remove the leftovers?
AVG Remover can be downloaded here: http://www.avg.com/download-tools

Yes that is a good idea, I will try those and get back…
